International House

Finally, session 2 had come to an end... and i have finally moved into International House for my final session (hopefully) of my University Life... Well currently i am staying at a temporary room and they might allow me to go on to the first floor provided there are spare rooms... Surprisingly the room they have given me was more spacious than what's Jeff is having (that what i think) and the table is unexpectably large or long for me to do my work... Lets take a look at my temporary new room :))

1) My room filled with boxes and spare table i brought from my old house...

2) Cabinets (got some odd perfume smell, yuck!!)... Luggages not unpacked yet...

Everything in this room has been good, pretty cooling too, can be slighty noisy when vehicle is passing by... The most sianz thing is this...

I believe this pipe is from the pantry and occasionally water can be heard flowing... Gosh...

Lastly hope that my stay in IH will be a fun and memorable one.. :)

Thesis Conference finally over...

YESH! The 'thorn' is removed! The Thesis Conference is finally over... Right, though i didn't really present my topic well and made a critical mistake... but overall i am happy because i need not do any grand presentation anymore!~~ woohoo...
Recalling the nite before the conference, the more i tried to prepare myself the worst i performed... i slept at 3 a.m. in the morning and i didn't expect the stress level is so high that i woke up by myself after only 4 hours of sleep... poor thing yer... haha...
Soon on the same morning at 11.40a.m. it was finally my turn... Show Time! 10 mins is all i spent on the stage after preparing the slides for about 5 days... sigh finally get to understand and appreciate this chinese phrase: “台上十分钟，台下十年功” (simplified verson: on stage 10 mins, below stage 10 years work, haha~) meaning that one able to perform on stage requires a lot of hardwork...

Double setback day!

Today has been a pretty sad day for me... First of all, its my mechanic test... the test wasn't that hard though but i did it again... Didn't read the questions carefully before attempting on the questions.. i miss out some part of the answers which might cause me to fail a test in this session...
2nd set back of the day... i used to do 12 chin ups now i am left with 3... gosh! Reasons? 1) I have got a belly now, the belly is about 10% of my total body weight... 2) my arm muscles have weaken... seldom do i have to use my physical strength nowadays (unless i got rob and i gotta fight a robber haha hopefully this day dun come by... ), as in uni the use of mental strength is very excessive (white hair growing!)... 3) Way of life... Eat liao sit... sit liao sleep... every day...

but todae finally i did my first run in NSW, the first step towards a healthy lifestyle haha... i ran about 2 km (almost collapse) and did gym... hm.... if this continues u will see a fit fit Gene in jan 2006... hehe~

An old lesson to be re-learn...

Currently there are 3 guys living in my house... One of them is me of course... So there are 2 more guyz left... Usually one of them will chase me for rent, now the other one has adopt the same mentality... no owing of money or rather no excuses for paying them late... hmm...
i remembered i used to be a landlord renting my other room to strangers that i didn't even know and i didn't even really chase them for rents and bills... What should i call this kinda of mentality?? "Giam peng"? Well, they will say if i dun chase i will be even more "peng". Yesh one old lesson to be learned again dun owe this "kinda" of ppl money (i gotta put this into my "dictionary")... Darn, i gotta check my junk mail folder more oftenly from now on to pay my bill on time (dun really know why this mails just happened to drop into these junk folder, what can i say is my mail box is AUTONOMOUS!)... yesh and this junk mail checking job will only last for 2 and a half months... those who are close to me, u know what i mean hehe... hope the day to the "flowerly" garden will come soon!

My second post!

Its been about 2 weeks after i have posted my virgin post! Right, i have just finished my 2nd presentation on "Hungry Ghost Festival" and the marks were even lower than the first time i presented, though i feel this time round i did better... Well maybe the audiences are giving me 同情分。。。 The end of this presentation means that the grand finale which is the Thesis Conference is coming up.. Mine talk is scheduled on the 7th Oct 11.40 pm... Argh! HAPPY! YES as after presentation i dun really have much more major presentation to do in my UNI life haha! SCARED! YES! as i dun really have the confidence to do well...
Anyway a good thing is tomolo i'm finally going to see my supervisor regarding my thesis. He had asked me to extend my simulation time for the program i have written... Hence i started running it at 2am before i went to bed after i have increase the simulation time from 25sec (which took me 2 hours to run the night before) to 80secs. Its now 1.46am, about 15 hours after i came back from school and about 24 hours after i went to bed, the program is still running and the simulation time now is 62 secs as shown in the pic attached 18secs left! that will be about 2-3 more hours of waiting to go...The most interesting about my thesis (simulation of double skin facade using a CFD program) is though i have run the program for 24 or more hours, the outcome of the results might just be some rubbish, yeah its a tough thesis to do and i simply love it for now hehe... All i can say again is wish me luck again in obtaining the results i want for my thesis...

Virgin Post!

Finally! Got my blog setup! Its a saturday todae and i "wasted" it on my uni's assignment on Computational Fluid Dynamics! I spent 6-7 hours on it (well, ok i confessed that out of the 6-7 hours, i used up about 3-4 hours on music and talking nonsence with friends thru msn) and the results are shown in the pic attached... 3 pages of equations that i dun really understand and i have to program it in some programs, one of the choice of course is the well known Fortran 77 which is "born" long before me... i have decided to choose the second alternative which most ppl the in my course will definately choose which is to use the Matlab. Though i do not know much about Matlab but i believe it will be easier than that F***ing77 proggy mentioned above haha... Wish me luck man with my fight against the mighty and horrible CFD assignment.
