Sat n Sun...

Went for driving in the movies after late nite movie on friday... Kung Fu Panda, treat from my auntie! Great animation, i must say...

In the afternoon travelled to Adephi again and enquire about the DPS turntable, hmmm.. i still needa save up... Think it will next year in Dec then i can get that set up... Firstly, saw an ang mo who came into JR's shop and get his "toy". Was trying to figure out what it was as he opened up the box, wooo.... Da Vinci Labs label! Then inside holds the most expensive tonearm (which i think it is for my limited knowledge in hifi) sold by JR, the Grandezza Grand Reference tone arm, drool... Saw 3-4 pieces of Jan Allaerts Cartridge which was on display and all sold out! That 4 piece took 15 months of waiting, morale of the story, even you got the moni, you might not get the stock instantly in this hifi world... erm... maybe another morale... good things must wait... more appropriate...
Next dropped by Music by Design and was told that my rack might be postpone for 1 - 2 weeks for staining, special order (see see another wait!!! like my hifi in my room i waited for 1 and half months and the amp which i ordered have not arrived till now... )! C.F (boss of music by design) told me, my bulk orders are dependant on yours now hehe...

Anyway wandered into their audition room, was looking at their magnificient setup of gems!... Burmester amplifier, monoblock and speakers (not sure about the price of this combi) with continuum turntables where the higher end one costs about 150k and the lower end model cost 80k, glurp... Well surely i could not afford these turntables but anyway C.F was generous enuff to offer me an audition on this setup, nice of him...
What he played for me was the 80k turntable setup with the burmester equipment :)... Some Jazz music initially played (of course they are great! :) ) and followed by Nora Jones LP, Don't Know Why... My impression on this song changed! I used to own the cd and it sounded so dull (guessed i played it on pc) and i would fall a sleep while listening to it... Listening to this song on the LP sounded so different and of course with this system, it was as though Nora was right in front of me, singing just for me...

Was about to go off and i mentioned to C.F, hmmm do you have LP for jazz at the pawnshop which i listened to on cd... Oh yes, so you are familiar with this, ok i will play you a couple of songs... Limehouse Blues was the song played, with my eyes close, i could feel as though the whole group of musicians were playing their instruments right in front of me... Everything sounded so right and good *cries*, the soundstage and dynamics... After that song, i had another appointment with old army friends and i left reluctantly because i wanted to listen to the better pieces in that LP... While C.F was keeping that LP, so Gene start saving up! I replied i will look for u once i strike TOTO *will be praying hard on this haha!*
Went to meet up with Kwen and Chris for dinner and went cheonging with them... Was at NaNa for 2 mugs of tiger beer before heading down to Ministry of Sound... Luckily it was free entry phew... That place was deafening... would preferred my own room's hifi, sounded so much better... Anywya had a Cranberry Vodka drink before telling them i am heading home first... Not suited for cheong environment, find it quite erm... not my cup of tea... Went home with my head spinning as i rushed to catch the last bus home...
Sun morningz... ate ba zhang and went for driving again suffered from hangover (correct term?)... Came back in the afternoon and listen to my cd on jazz at the pawnshop... Making a comparison with what i heard from C.F system... music from my system is still enjoyable but lacks dynamics compared to LP, e.g. the drums sounded like "cut off" sigh... Some details could not be heard maybe its my system or maybe its the source... Cd certainly sounded much cleaner, no pop pop sounds from the dust collected on the LP... Well LP still sounded better... Ok! I wan i wan! that itz...
Hopefully the acoustic treatment and the rack i am getting will bring my current system performance up another level.... Waiting..... impatiently (hehe)...
